These four awards, open to all those employed by Top Solar Contractor companies, highlight talent in the industry in different skill areas.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-99049\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarpowerworldonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Designer22-500x325.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"325\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarpowerworldonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Designer22-500x325.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.solarpowerworldonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Designer22-368x238.jpg 368w, https:\/\/www.solarpowerworldonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Designer22.jpg 770w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/>The<strong> 2022 Top Solar Designer <\/strong>award-winner is <span class=\"s1\">Elizabeth Helsel, project manager for State College, Pennsylvania\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rettew.com\/\">RETTEW Field Services<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-pullquote su-pullquote-align-right\"><em>\u201cShe is an advocate for her clients and the broader industry, careful to ensure that floating solar designs are robust to prevent this fledgling portion of the industry in the U.S. from gaining a negative perception.\u201d &#8211; Jason Wert , market leader, Rettew Associates<\/em><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Helsel\u2019s solar array<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> design skillset has helped RETTEW succeed in a unique and growing segment of the industry: floating solar projects. Floating solar requires specialized permitting and anchoring specifications that the designer must carefully consider. Helsel has excelled in this area, recently completing the 3.3-MW Jackson Floating Solar Array in New Jersey. The Jackson array is one of the largest in the United States, as well as the first application in the country of floating solar PV on a deep-water quarry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">As a new frontier for solar installation, standards are being set in real time for floating PV projects. Helsel has become a leader in this space, working with design, construction and manufacturing sectors to find the most cost-effective solutions for new equipment configurations that work best on water.
