In particular, the residential market <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarpowerworldonline.com\/2022\/03\/market-report-estimates-11-gw-decrease-in-near-term-solar-installations\/\">grew 30%,<\/a> which is reflected in the increased installation numbers recorded by this year\u2019s Top Solar Contractors class.<em> Solar Power World<\/em>, the solar industry\u2019s leading business-to-business publication, today released the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarpowerworldonline.com\/2022-top-solar-contractors\/\">2022 Top Solar Contractors List<\/a>, the most recognized annual listing of solar contractors in the United States working in the utility, commercial and residential markets.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarpowerworldonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/2022-TSC.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-99029\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarpowerworldonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/2022-TSC-500x231.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"231\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarpowerworldonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/2022-TSC-500x231.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.solarpowerworldonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/2022-TSC-368x170.jpg 368w, https:\/\/www.solarpowerworldonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/2022-TSC.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a>\u201cThe utility-scale solar market, of course, puts up huge installation numbers each year, but the majority of workers in the industry are constructing projects in the commercial and residential markets, which continue to break records,\u201d said Kelly Pickerel, editor in chief of <em>Solar Power World<\/em>. \u201cOver 85% of the companies on the 2022 Top Solar Contractors List primarily work in the residential and commercial sectors, and they all reported closing out the last year in a positive light.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to data released by Wood Mackenzie \u2014 before recent federal decisions to prevent additional tariffs on imported solar panels \u2014 the United States is expected to install <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarpowerworldonline.com\/2022\/03\/market-report-estimates-11-gw-decrease-in-near-term-solar-installations\/\">11 GW less<\/a> than originally predicted in 2022, due to continued supply chain constraints, price increases and interconnection challenges. Still, a survey of the 2022 Top Solar Contractors class found that 59% predicted their business would increase in the next year, with only 9% assuming business would decrease.<\/p>\n<p>Companies on the 2022 Top Solar Contractors List also see future growth opportunities in energy storage sales. Of the Top Solar Contractors surveyed, only 8% are not yet installing energy storage. Data from Wood Mackenzie shows that the United States installed 10.5 GWh of energy storage in 2021, a new record. More solar contractors were included on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarpowerworldonline.com\/2022-top-solar-storage-installers\/\">2022 Top Solar + Storage Installers List<\/a> than the previous edition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s easy to worry about the current state of the industry, especially with legislation battles and supply concerns featured in the news every day,\u201d Pickerel said. \u201cThat\u2019s why we like to take a moment every year to reflect on the accomplishments of many solar companies throughout the country.
