In acknowledgement of the 10th anniversary of Solar Power World’s Top Solar Contractors list, the editorial team proudly recognizes four individuals for Top Solar Champions awards<\/a>. These special awards highlight four individuals working at Top Solar Contractor companies who have gone the extra mile in their jobs and solar advocacy efforts.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The 2021<\/strong> Top Solar Installer <\/strong>award-winner is Shawn Reynolds, commercial construction manager at Solar Impact<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Shawn Reynolds\u2019 passion for exceeding customer expectations no matter the obstacles in his path makes him this year\u2019s Top Solar Installer.<\/p>\n

During the pandemic, Reynolds led his team to complete a significant project with Hillsborough County, Florida, despite budget and construction constraints. The 720-kW portfolio on the county\u2019s public libraries was completed on time, while Reynolds was also in charge of multiple other jobs nearly two hours away.<\/p>\n

\u201cShawn is an example of not only a master of his craft, but someone who truly cares about the success of his team, his company and doing the right thing for our customers. He not only embraces but embodies our core values.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n

After installation, the array experienced some module failures that could have harmed the company\u2019s working relationship with the county. Instead, Reynolds stepped in to quickly replace the broken equipment to ensure the client was satisfied.<\/p>\n

The successful project helped Solar Impact reach even more clients in the Tampa\/Hillsborough area and has more than tripled the company\u2019s installations in the region.<\/p>\n

In addition to his dedication to projects from start to finish and beyond, Reynolds is also committed to training the next generation of installers. He teaches Sante Fe College\u2019s Electrical Construction Apprenticeship program, which many of Solar Impact\u2019s workers have taken. He\u2019s always willing to drop what he\u2019s doing to answer questions about solar installation and electrical work.<\/p>\n
