Kontrolmatik Technologies<\/a>, via its subsidiary Pomega Energy Storage Technologies<\/a>, intends to build a lithium-ion battery factory in Colleton County, South Carolina. The 500,000-sq-ft facility will have an initial production capacity of 3 GWh and produce LFP cells for grid-scale energy storage applications.\u00a0Production is expected to begin in 2024.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Pomega Energy Storage Technologies, founded as a subsidiary of Turkish company Kontrolmatik Technologies in 2022, is a manufacturer and integrator of battery energy storage systems. In addition to manufacturing the battery cells at the factory in South Carolina, Pomega will also manufacture and assemble turnkey ESS, including the modules, cabinets and other elements that are included in the final containerized solutions. Pomega\u2019s ESS can be collocated with renewable energy installations or can be designed as a standalone system.<\/p>\n

Pomega’s $279 million investment will create approximately 575 new jobs in South Carolina.<\/p>\n
